Rosey Posey.....

I know that this rose salve has been popular for a long time but I have actually never tried it, until recently, when my sister bought it for me for Christmas!! And I finally know what all of the rage is about, as it is amazing!!!

A multi-purpose salve, it provides moisture to all parts of your body including lips, elbows and knees, and  even minor burns. Not only does it make your lips super soft, but it gives them the perfect tinge of a dewy ruby red!! Plus, it comes in the cutest of tins, that I love carrying around in my purse!!! So, if you haven't tried it, I suggest you do!!!

Ciao,

A Pink Thumb?!?

I am not one of those people that you would call a green thumb (def: someone who has an extraordinary ability to grow plants well). In fact, I may just be the opposite of that definition. In my many attempts at growing flowers in the past, I have forgotten to water them, placed them in the wrong light, and have even forgotten about them completely. However, my luck may be changing as I have succesfully transplanted and grown my very own rose bush. I was so proud to see the first buds on the plant and even happier when I saw what a beautiful flower it bloomed into. So, although I don't have a green thumb, I think it may be safe to say that I have a pink thumb (def: someone who has an extraordinary ability to grow roses well)!!!!

Hope you are having a lovely day,

Karen

Roses are Red....and Sometimes Pink!!

Have you ever unknowingly been attracted to buying items of a certain color, flavour, pattern, etc only to realize that many of the items of you own are of this certain color, flavor or pattern. Well, this has recently happened to me as I have finally come to the realization that I love roses!! At first I thought that this was a recent love, but after pondering it a while, I realized I may have always loved roses  - I mean even my wedding flowers were roses - how could I have missed this love for roses??

So, you can imagine how I pleased I was when my lovely friend Jordan brought me a cute little pair of rose earrings from her vacation. They are great everyday earrings and they match many of my rose inspired outfits!!! Thanks again Jordan!!

She bought this pair of earrings on their trip down the West Coast but I found a variety of Etsy sights that you can buy some just like it.

More Ideas

So the idea that I had when my brain was scrambled still makes sense. It also makes sense to other people. I was thinking that the roses may have to be extended further down my arm to look right. Since the puppet (currently Em Jr as both of my inspiration pieces happened to be named Emily) is going to take up more space than I originally anticipated, I think it makes sense to extend the roses in both directions. I feel like it wouldn't look right if the roses only extended up my arm and left the bottom part blank. It's definitely something that needs to be discussed in our group pow wow, whenever that happens. Probably shortly before we get started on Em Jr.

My other idea was for a convention piece. As I've mentioned, I love the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. I though that maybe Russ (or someone else) could do that for me during the convention. I could also place it such that it leaves room to eventually add to it. Alice in Wonderland tattoos are fairly common, but I didn't really see many that focused on the Cheshire Cat. Most of them were larger scenes. Again, something to discuss with Russ (or someone). It'd be cool if Mark and Shane went but I don't think they're going to. I know Shane helped organize it a few years ago, so who knows? I'm just going to keep my eyes peeled.

And that's all for now as I'm falling asleep sitting up and it's back to the grindstone tomorrow. *sigh*
