It's sad to say but music covers are become a dying art form as we increasingly download songs from iTunes instead of buying CDs. Sleevage is a super cool blog that celebrates the most innovative artworks to have graced the covers of LPs from the 1960s to the present. The power of album artwork can be overlooked but a lot of thought goes into the packaging of a CD. Album art has to reflect the music and the artist, and be attractive enough to catch consumers' eyes from the shelves. Here are some of my favorite artists and covers featured on the site:
Food and Liquor, Lupe Fiasco
To the 5 Boroughs, The Beastie Boys
Viva La Vida, Coldplay
