I'm assuming that most of you watched the Sex and the City movie this weekend. If not, what are you waiting for?! I LOVED it and of course the fashion didn't disappoint. With 84 wardrobe changes for Carrie alone, how could it! I won't spoil the plot for those of you planning to see it but I would love to hear from those who have. I was satisfied with the way things ended for all the characters (unike when the actual show ended) and I'm thinking we should start a grassroots campaign for a sequel. They should call it "Life Married to Mr. Big". To keep us going until then, why not inject a little Sex in the City into your life with these great replicas of Dior's "Extreme Gladiator Platforms". I know Kenneth Cole’s Spring 2006 runway show is "a few" seasons old but I’ve had my eye on his deep blue summer dress (which Brazilian model Emanuela de Paula wore) for quite some time now so you can imagine how happy I was when by chance I ran across Forever 21’s great look-a-like. Granted the sun ain’t shining anymore but I’ll let you in on a little secret, I do a lot of my summer shopping in the winter. Not only do you get end of season items for ridiculously reduced prices, you also find it easier to locate your size in off-season items simply because no one else is really checking for them. In the summer a goreous dress at a popoular store can sell out in one day. I suggest buying coats and jackets in summer and conversely dresses and open-toed heels in winter. Planning ahead never hurt anybody! If you prefer the traditional route and would rather wait until the actual season has arrived before buying the appropiate clothes, at the very least ask the store manager what days they receive their new stock so you can have first pick on everything.

On another note, what do you all think about the new ABC show by "Sex in the City" producer Darren Star? The show's wardrobe will be selected by stylist Patricia Field, another Sex in the City alum. The show was scheduled to air this Fall but due to the Writers Guild of America strike, ABC has delayed the premiere of the series. Check out the trailor below...

Ever since Kerry Washington walked the “white carpet” at Chanel’s latest event, I’ve been on a mission to track down affordable alternatives to the white cap-toe pumps which she wore (by Chanel, naturally). Chanel does offer a black cap-toe pump (I think it was out last season,) and I was able to find Guess’ Arabella for a fraction of the price. It’s not exactly the same as Kerry’s, but the sentiment is there! Wear with a black and white shift dress or long, flared, black pants that just show the tips. Divine.

Diane von Furstenberg is suing our friends at Forever 21. According to WWD, Diane von Furstenberg’s Studio filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Forever 21 Retail Inc. late last week in Manhattan federal court. According to legal documents obtained Tuesday, the company alleged Forever 21 has sold dresses that infringe on its Cerisier and Aubrey designs.

Brights are one of the many trends for Spring (along with metallics and sportswear). Whether it’s a loud orange coat or fluorescent pink heels, you’ve got to invest in a ‘shout-out’ staple for your wardrobe next season. I’m opting for a cute cropped, yellow jacket that I can wear with blue jeans or neutrals as seen at Chloe’s Spring 2007 ready-to-wear collection (see pic on the left). If you really want to spice things up pair yellow with shiny gold shorts and heels for a night on the town… You’ll take the term ‘bright young thing’ to a new level! I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this stunning silver, brocade coat from, yes you guessed it, Forever 21 – they need to start paying me commission! Anyway it’s just shy of $65 and looks very much like the coat Burberry Prorsum featured during their Spring 2006 ready-to-wear show (see it here on Style.com). Wear with these gorgeous, sparkly pumps (Charles by Charles David Women's Amco Pump, $114.95) from the great new accessories site Endless.com. I would absolutely team this look with black opaque tights or a pair of skinny jeans. Just be sure to wear something equally as cute underneath so that when you have to take your coat off you’re still the ‘belle of the ball.’

Cassie, Tracee and Malinda Williams all rock the Diane von Furstenberg 'Kipper' Blouse in their own style

I’ve received 5 emails from readers asking me where to find the shirt Tracee is wearing with her pencil skirt in the 'Just Pencil Me In' post below. I couldn’t find the exact cut as the ladies above, but I did find the a shirt with the same print (Diamond Confetti) at Nordstorm.
