I'm assuming that most of you watched the Sex and the City movie this weekend. If not, what are you waiting for?! I LOVED it and of course the fashion didn't disappoint. With 84 wardrobe changes for Carrie alone, how could it! I won't spoil the plot for those of you planning to see it but I would love to hear from those who have. I was satisfied with the way things ended for all the characters (unike when the actual show ended) and I'm thinking we should start a grassroots campaign for a sequel. They should call it "Life Married to Mr. Big". To keep us going until then, why not inject a little Sex in the City into your life with these great replicas of Dior's "Extreme Gladiator Platforms". I can't take credit for this find. The fabulous ladies of ShoeBlog.com discovered these $65 knock offs by Bakers Shoes.

Once Bitten…

Cute items from Sarah Jessica Parker’s line Bitten
Accessories from the Bitten line

H&M, Forever 21 and Old Navy need to be concerned. Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker is the real deal. With no item costing more than twenty dollars, it is quite possible to buy your entire spring wardrobe for less than $200! Now we have to be realistic here. Don’t expect a pair of $20, oops I mean $19.98 pair of jeans to rival the pair of Miss Sixty’s you have folded in your closet. That said, I think there are some great pieces that can act as “wardrobe fillers” – you know those tops that you can wear under a jacket and it looks cute. Above and below I picked some of the items that stood out on the Bitten site plus Sarah’s key looks of the season. You can click here to see what SJP has to say about her inspirations. What do you think about the line thus far? Do the clothes fit seamlessly into your wardrobe? Or do they look like they’d fall about after one wash?!

Smell Like a Star

Sarah Jessica Parker and her new fragrance "Covet."
Left to right: Diamonds by Emporio Armani, $64 for 3.4oz, www.macys.com; Unforgivable for Women by Sean John, $55 for 2.5oz, www.sephora.com; Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker, $52 for 1.5oz, www.nordstrom.com; Usher for Her, $52 for 1.7oz, www.sephora.com
Left to right: L by L.A.M.B. Fragrance By Gwen Stefani, $55 for 1.7oz, www.sephora.com; M by Mariah, $62.50 for 3.3oz, www.shop.elizabetharden.com; Baby Phat Golden Goddess by Kimora Lee Simmons, $52 for 3.4oz, www.babyphat.com; Glow by J Lo Gift Set, $60, www.macys.com

It isn’t enough to have mutli-platinum selling albums or number one movies. Now celebrities are almost expected to leverage their name to other seemingly unrelated business ventures. Fashion lines, liquor and even car rims are all fair game, but the fragrance is the ultimate celebrity venture. What could be better than being immortalized into a sweet scent?

If stars aren’t making their own fragrances they are lending their status to promote other fragrances, a la Beyonce for Armani’s “Diamonds.” I have and love J Lo’s “Glow” and I’ve smelt Diddy’s “Unforgivable” – very spicy and not in a good way. As for the others I’m no expert but I’ve heard great things about both Sarah Jessica Parker’s fragrances. Leave comments for your fellow readers about any of the brands above or others you love.

P.S. My all time favorite scent is “Blue” by Dolce & Gabbana. ;)

Sex and the City is back! Although I’m sure you knew this already. I must admit I was disappointed with how the series ended. Yes, I wanted Carrie to end up with “Big” but she made it too easy for him. Let him sweat a little! Now the four ladies have returned and are as stylish as ever. I know I shouldn’t look at the photos of them on the set as it gives everything away, but I can’t help but get my fashion fix. Above I picked some items inspired by the movie so far. You can see more photos from the movie set in the slideshow below. The movie is scheduled to be released next May. I can already hear the opening theme music in my head…

What Say We?... Yay or Nay?!

Sarah Jessica Parker arriving at the Ara Pacis for the "Valentino In Rome, 45 Years Of Style" Exhibition opening in Rome on July 6, 2007.

Fashion icon Valentino decided to mark the celebration of the 45th anniversary of his luxury brand by breaking a 17-year tradition of unveiling his luxurious haute couture collections for women in Paris with a show in Rome. Sarah Jessica Parker arrived wearing Valentino (of course!), but I’m on the proverbial fence when it comes to this particular piece of “haute couture.” While Valentino is one of fashion’s living legends, Sarah has single-handedly proven why couture is best kept on the runway. NAY!

Color Me Bad!

Sarah Jessica Parker, wearing a Giambattista Valli dress and VBH clutch, attending the 2006 National Board Of Review Awards Gala last month in NYC.
Nicole Richie, holding a Pucci clutch, at the Cavern Wallpaper and Kidada Jones for Disney Coutour Celebration of their new collections January last week in West Hollywood, California.

I saw a feature in last week’s “Life & Style” magazine that talked about Sarah Jessica Parkers' multi-colored clutch by VBH (V. Bruce Hoeksema). They found like four pics of her with it in different outfits and talked about how it must be worth the $990 she paid because it goes with everything – They really don’t miss a beat! Anyway, it got me thinking about investing in a crazy colored bag that will go with almost everything in my closet. And the things it doesn’t go with?... Why not clash?! See below for some colorful ideas.

The Search Begins…

As fall approaches the search for the perfect new coat begins. The ideal contender would marry function with style effortlessly; we all want to keep warm, but look great too! This season’s coats see the continuation of fur, print and metallic fabrics, combined with waist cinching belts and military inspirations. If you’re unsure what style to go for a trench coat is always a winner, it's a classic style that suits all shapes. See below for the best selection of fall coats that have just hit the shops...

This collection is for the girlie-girl in us. I hope some of the designers in the eagerly awaited Fall/Winter 2007 Olympus Fashion Week, showcase some beautiful, airy and light dresses and skirts - just because the sun is leaving us, doesn't mean our flirty side should! And since some of us have started looking for the perfect coat, the Floral Brocade one (pictured above) is perfect for Fall's special occasions.

I used to run from sequins like a vampire runs from garlic, but lately i've been coming around to sparkly items, namely dresses and bags, both of which can attract admiring stares at any venue. Just look at the ladies above, all of whom seem happy to soak up the attention their sparkly outfit's are garnering.... see the next post for some show-stopping pieces of your own!

Style Spotlight: Sarah Jessica Parker

How can this woman not be anyone's style icon? I love, love, love this dress... this is the definition of Prim ‘n’ Proper (see previous post!). I wish Sex and the City could have lasted forever, but all good things must come to and end :( At least we can continue to see Sarah's stylish outfits on the red carpet, like here when she attended a press conference to promote the DVD release of the final season of "Sex and the City" in Tokyo, Japan. I've promised myself when I start earning some real money, i'll buy myself the ultimate cocktail dress... until then dresses from Forever 21 will have to suffice!
