Portrait of designer Kevan Hall.
Dresses from his Spring 2006 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles.
Kevan Hall and his wife/partner Deborah launched Kevan Hall Couture in Los Angeles circa 1982. Things have been on-the-up ever since. Between 1988 and 1997 Hall won three awards including an amazing honor from the Center of Performing Arts in Southern California. With all this success it was only natural for Hall to open a second signature line in 2002. This collection epitomized his design philosophy, which strays from following current trends and focuses heavily on classic, timeless pieces that emphasize the female silhouette. After the launch of his 2002 collection the accolades continued. That same year Hall won the 47th Annual Gold Coast Fashion Award in Chicago as “Designer of the Year” and in 2005, Hall was awarded “Stylemaker of the Year” by 'Life & Style' magazine.
If you've never heard of him before let me be the first to tell you that his designs are stunning! So much so, I might consider surrendering a whole month’s salary in the future just to obtain one of his dresses (like that green one pictured above!) Celebrity fans include Angela Bassett, Vivica Fox, Renee Zellweger, Garcelle Beauvais, Charlize Theron, and Salma Hayek, all of whom have donned one of Hall’s creations on the red carpet... Though I doubt very much that they had to pay for theirs, it’s just not fair! Visit www.kevanhalldesigns for more info on Kevan Hall.
