As temperatures rise so too do hemlines and who better to spotlight than the queen of the mini, Ms. Christina Milian? She must have a closet full of short ‘n’ sassy dresses, but unlike Halle Berry, Christina prefers her summer frocks with splashes of color and high heels to match. Christina seems to prefer block colors over patterns but one can never go wrong with classic colors. If you too aren’t drawn to patterns, try picking dresses in this season’s must-have shapes like the bubble dress but opt for colors you’ll always cherish. Black and other neutrals are classics but summer was meant for color so go live a little!

Who would have thought fashion would look to golfers for inspiration? Hard to believe huh? But if you browse through the knitwear section of your favorite boutique, you’ll notice a sudden upsurge in argyle, female sweaters. Though you can find plenty of traditional argyle sweaters and cardigans (much like Porscha’s above,) think about trying a new take on the style a la Christina Milian or the two sweaters above by Jones NY and Adam Lippes.

The Eyes Have It…

Inner & Outer Corners: Both Nia Long and Alicia Keys chose to concentrate their eye shadow color in the inner and outer corners of their eyes respectively.

Under the Eye: Ashanti and Rihanna prefer to leave their top eyelids bare and let their bottom lids do the talking.

Top Eyelid: Christina Milian and Jada Pinkett-Smith prefer the conventional approach and opt for color above the eye.

Smoky Eyes: Garcelle Beauvais and Kerry Washington perfect their red carpet pose with smoky eyes and nude lips.

Nude Eyes: Sanaa Lathan and Danielle Evans keep things simple with a nude eye and a dash of eyeliner.

Tatyana Ali is currently working on the movie “Nora's Hair Salon II” (did I miss Nora's Hair Salon I?) She looks great in this dress and I think she’s lost a little weight. Tatyana was out supporting her 'big brother’ Will Smith at the premiere of his new movie. It’s good to see her back in the game.

I love Christina Milian’s dress by Max Azria. She was at the unveiling of a large art installation by artist, Patrick Dougherty, outside Max Azria’s LA boutique. She absolutely killed it with that dress and the accessories – A definite YAY!

Michelle Williams hasn’t been on the red carpet for a while, but she’s back with a vengeance. She picked the perfect gown for the event. According to Wikipedia.com Michelle is due to release her third studio album in 2007. It's rumored to venture away from her previous gospel efforts and take a more commercial Soul/R’n’B route. As much as I like her, I’m not holding my breath. :(

I’m getting used to seeing Vanessa Williams without locs, this hair style really suits her. And can you believe she’s the mother of two children? That body tells a different story. As well as starring in three movies next year, including “Contradictions of the Heart” with Wendy Raquel Robinson and Lisa Raye, she’s apparently working on an music album. Her and Halle Berry need to take a minute and think it about… that’s all I’m sayin’!

Y’know I almost made Christina Milian this week’s ‘Yay or Nay,’ but lucky for her Eve looks waaaaay worse and even though I don’t like the heart-shaped shirt she still looks amazing. Speaking of amazing, Jody Watley looks great for 47! I know 47 isn’t old still, she’s working the h*ll outta that dress. Check out Jody’s new site here. I know y’all are probably fed-up of Garcelle but she just gets it… Not seen a bad pic of her yet. And who else can not wait to see Dreamgirls? I hope it doesn’t disappoint, it would be great for all those involved to receive great reviews for their roles. Jennifer Hudson certainly looks like she’s ready for the spotlight. That dress is perfection on her.

The 2006 Teen Choice Awards took place last night and a lot of the big stars came out to play! Rihanna, Christina and the Jessica's looked fabulous as usual. I love both Nelly Furtado and Rihanna's dresses - very different! The boys opted for a more casual look, not too sure about Luda's sneakers, but overall everyone looks great... A-!
