Paul and Joe

I was in Paris for the holidays and came across the cutest brand called Paul and Joe. The store in the Marais district was really adorable and all of the clothing has the cutest most feminine details. I wanted everthing in the store!

Jules Power

I have just recently found this new Canadian designer and her collection is amazing. "Dedicated to natural condfidence and femininity, Jules Power is a Toronto based desinger with a signature style". Previously designed for Roots, Danier Leather and Joe Fresh (one of my faves), Jules launched her own line in 2009. Available online and accross Canada in designer boutiques, Jules Women's line is sure to turn heads!!

Here are some of my favorites from her Fall 2010 line.

Summer Snow Art Exhibit

Summer Snow is an art exhibit that interprets the SS 2011 woman Marsèll Goccia collection. The art collabortive Nucleo suggests a snowfall out of season. Spraying white polyurethane with a semiautomatic machine Nucleo recreates the effect of random typical snowstorm on the shoes. The show runs Via Paullo 12/A Milan | 23rd September – 15th October. 26 Rue Saint Gilles, 75003, Paris | 30th September – 8th October

Tory Burch Spring 2011 Collection

Here are some photos I took at last weeks Tory Burch fashion presentation. The girls all looked lovely in their 70's inspired looks. Some of my favorite things from the show were the high waisted skirts and the bright pops of orange. Overall the styles were really pretty, flirty and feminine. Lots of pieces on my shopping list for Spring!

Opening Ceremony and Pendelton

For Fashions Night Out last night I attended the Opening Ceremony's French flea market at the Ace Hotel. The real stand out of the evening for me was the Opening Ceremony Pendelton collaboration collection. Opening Ceremony brilliantly transformed the signature patterns and prints of Pendelton into high fashion pieces.

Isabel Marant

Summer is slowly starting to slip away.  As the air gets cooler and the leaves start to turn color, I shed a tear and wave good bye to my beloved summer until next year and look forward to the beautiful Saskatchewan fall and the Fall/Winter fashion season which is just ahead of us.
One of my favorite ready to wear collections this season is from Isabel Marant. This Parisian designer was inspired by the late 1950's and 1960's street style which shines brightly through her collection. The mid calf fitted jeans, the jean jackets worn with funky leather jackets and the sparkly t-shirts cry feminine elegance with a touch of androgyny. Designed with the classic Parisian woman in mind, the collection is effortlessly comfortable and can actually be worn by women on the street, and wear they will do , over and over again.

Snoozer Looser Fall Preview

I just received the look book for the Snoozer Looser Fall / Winter line and had to share it with you guys. I have posted about New York designer Snoozer Looser in the past and I am really excited about her new collection. I love the mixing and matching of these funky prints and the styling is so great. The knee socks and brightly colored tights are perfect accents.

Christian Dior's Princess Ballerina

There is something alluring about yards and yards of pink tulle. It reminds me of dancing around in my sister's, much too big for me, ballet tutu for hours pretending I was a ballerina princess. For me, tulle creates a whimsical yet chic design, which sort of brings me back to that moment in time when anything and everything was possible. If I could, I  would wear princess inspired couture everyday of my life!!!

This may be why I love this ballerina inspired pink tulle dress at Decades Inc. Circa 1950, the dress bears the newly expanded New York label which was intended to provide america with the 'New Look'. After WWII the new look which, encompassed long skirts and an over-use of fabric was a much needed change from the fabric rations during war time. The long length of the dress and the excessive use of tulle are reminisent of this time.

If you are interested, it is for sale at Decades Inc., an online shop specializing in vintage couture clothing.

Ruby Boutique

I came across this great designer from New Zealand. Illustrated by their wonderful name, the line is trendy, modern and seems to emanate 'woman'. They offer an ultra feminine look with lot of pinks, tons of ruffles, and shear materials. A great contrast from the masculine look that we have been seeing. Plus I love how they have paired knee high socks with almost everything - a simple trick that can update any outfit!!

Here is a quick glance from their current line but you can shop online here

Cheers,
Karen
